Lucy and George’s Traditional Summer Marquee Wedding
There’s something truly special about a marquee wedding at home, and you know by now that this is where I thrive! Lucy and George’s big day in Staffordshire captured everything I love about a traditional summer marquee wedding. A classic church ceremony, a relaxed drinks reception, and a marquee celebration filled with personal touches.
Lucy and George began their celebrations with a heartfelt church ceremony surrounded by family and friends. The traditional vows, organ music, and atmosphere of the church set the perfect tone for the rest of the day.
After the ceremony, guests returned to the family home where the marquee was beautifully set up in the gardens. Now, it did rain a little…we are in the UK after all. But that didn’t dampen our spirits! We had a wet weather plan in place and spent some time indoors in the stunning marquee during the drizzle. The drinks reception was relaxed with live music and Bucks Fizz while guests mingled between the sailcloth marquee and the lawn to play games.
One of the most wonderful parts of Lucy and George’s day was their styling. They sourced all of their own décor items from scratch, from their incredible floral arch to their charger plates, creating a marquee that felt entirely personal. The day before the wedding, I was on site setting up the marquee, styling each table, placing each candle, and ensuring everything was in place. Lucy and George created the vision, while trusting me to turn it into reality for them!
This part of my Wedding Day Management package is one of my favourite things about planning marquee weddings at home, as it allows couples to put their stamp on the day, while still having a professional eye to bring it all together.
Guests enjoyed a traditional sit-down meal inside the marquee, before heading to the dance floor for the evening celebrations. A fish and chip van arrived for the evening food: the ultimate comfort food and perfect late-night wedding treat! A photo booth in the evening provided the perfect set up for guests to get silly, and make memories!
Lucy and George’s Review:
“Beth really is incredible at what she does- a complete professional from start to finish, not just on the wedding day but during the weeks and months leading up to it. Beth is extremely knowledgeable in all things weddings and her keen eye for detail alongside her exceptional organisational skills really were our safe space in the days and weeks leading up to our big day and was a huge help in coordinating our suppliers. Not only is she a complete professional, she is one of the nicest people I've ever had the privilege of working with and we would have been lost with her. Thank you so much for everything Beth! You helped make our day everything we dreamt of and more!”
Marquee weddings offer endless flexibility. Whether you want a traditional marquee summer wedding like Lucy and George, hosting your wedding at home gives you the freedom to make the day completely your own.
If you’re dreaming of a marquee wedding I’d love to help you bring it to life. From full planning to on-the-day coordination, I make sure no detail is overlooked so you can truly enjoy your day!
